LabServices

Get Started

From new account to your first result.

Everything you need to go live with LabServices: an individual walkthrough, mobile app setup, and a checklist for rolling out your whole team.

01

Check your email for an invite from noreply@labservices.io with your login link for app.labservices.io. If you don't have an account yet, contact us and we'll typically set you up the same day. Add the app to your home screen on iPhone or Android for quick field access, see the setup guides below.

02

Set up your organisation

Add your organisation details, invite your colleagues, and set up your default laboratory partners. Your regional manager may have already done this for you.

03

Create your first case

A case is a project: a building, a site, or a damage event. Give it a name, a client reference, and optionally link it to an address. Every sample you submit is grouped under the case it belongs to.

04

Submit samples from the field

Open the app, select your case, and register the sample: type, collection location, collection date, and the lab to send it to. Press submit and the lab receives a structured submission instantly, no paper chain-of-custody form. Works for asbestos, mould, air quality, and any other sample type.

05

Track and receive results

Your sample appears on your dashboard with its current status. You'll get a push notification the moment the lab marks it complete, and the result lands directly in your case record. No calls, no voicemail, no status chasing.

06

Export your documentation

When the project is complete, open the case record and select Export. Choose a PDF summary, chain-of-custody report, or full result pack, and download or share it directly. Insurer-ready, regulator-ready, in three clicks.

Rolling out to your whole team

Day 1: Organisation setup

  • Create your organisation account (contact us if you don't have one yet)
  • Set your organisation name, region(s), and contact details
  • Add your accredited laboratory partners: the labs your team submits to regularly
  • Configure notification preferences (email / push / both)

Day 1-2: User setup

  • Invite your project managers. They receive a welcome email with login instructions.
  • Assign regional manager role to yourself and any area leads
  • Confirm each user has added the app to their home screen (iOS / Android)

Day 2-3: First live case

  • Create a case using a current or recent project
  • Submit one sample with a project manager. Walk through the flow together.
  • Confirm the lab receives the submission (ask your lab contact to verify)
  • Receive a test result and confirm it appears in the case record

Day 3-5: Team rollout

  • Brief the full project manager team, 30 minutes is enough
  • Point the team to this Get Started page
  • Set the expectation: all new cases go through LabServices from this date
  • Book a 2-week check-in to confirm all PMs are submitting and tracking via the app

What works best

  • Start with one active project, not all of them. Migrate as new cases open.
  • Get your lab contact to confirm they're comfortable with the submission format before go-live.
  • The biggest adoption driver: the first time a project manager doesn't have to call the lab for a status update.
  • Regional managers: check the dashboard daily for the first two weeks. It makes adoption visible.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an existing account to get started?

You need an organisation account first. If you don't have one, contact us and we'll typically set you up the same day.

What counts as a case?

A case is a project: a building, a site, or a damage event. Every sample you submit is grouped under the case it belongs to.

How fast does the lab see a submitted sample?

Instantly. The lab receives a structured submission the moment you press submit in the app, no email or phone call needed.

How do I get my documentation once a project is done?

Open the case record and select Export. Choose a PDF summary, chain-of-custody report, or full result pack, and download or share it directly.

How long does a full team rollout take?

About a week, following the checklist above: organisation setup on day one, user setup by day two, a first live case by day three, and full team rollout by day five.

Should we migrate all our active projects at once?

No. Start with one active project and migrate the rest as new cases open. Moving everything at once slows adoption down.

What's the single biggest driver of adoption?

The first time a project manager doesn't have to call the lab to get a status update. That's usually the moment the team stops resisting the new process.

Can Milva help run the onboarding with us?

The checklist above is designed to be self-serve, most teams don't need a guided call. If you run into questions along the way, your laboratory partner is your first point of contact, they know your setup best.

Any questions?

Your laboratory is your first point of contact for questions about a submission, a sample, or a result.
